BIOGRAphy

Marco Canale  (Buenos Aires, 1977). Author, theater and film director,  creates projects with non-professional actors. His plays cross documentary and fiction and were presented at venues such as the Edinburgh Festival (UK), Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Berlin), The Row (New York), Young Vic Theater, (London), Casa de América (Madrid) and Teatro Nacional Cervantes (Buenos Aires). 

His theatre project “La velocidad de la luz”, created together with elderly people from different cultures, was performed in Argentina (FIBA), Germany (Festival Theaterformen), Switzerland (FAR – Festival des Arts Vivants), Japan (Tokyo TOKYO Festival), Spain (FIT de Cádiz) and is currently being created in Santiago de Chile (Centro GAM). While he directs “Tres Pozos”, a new play created with native wichi community actors from Chaco, Argentina (to be premiered at FIBA, 2023). 

NOH, his first feature film, starring elderly people from Tokyo (in parallel to the process of The Speed of light – Tokyo), received the Jury’s Special Mention at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival.
